  1. the sad thing is our misunderstanding of painkillers. they all come from plants and are practically free to manufacturer. there is aspirin ibuprofen opiate and marijuana. While there are others, most everything else is derived from these.

they are cheap to make and shouldn't cost much. The government can regulate their cost, like they do with food.

secondly, we should stop talking about how much money were going to make from all this stuff. do we really want to become the drug dealers? people whose only motive is profit?

are we doing this to make money or are we doing this to alleviate people's pain? we need to work towards alleviating pain rather than making money.

  2. Chronic pain patients are not the abusers so how is pot going to help? I am so tired of this. < 8% of chronic pain patients abuse or misuse pain medication because they DO NOT want it taken away from them. Does it "cure" chronic pain? No. Does it eliminate all pain? Usually not. But is does make it a little easier to get out of bed in the morning and continue to be a productive member of society. There is no doubt that pot is a good substitution for some patients but when we are discussing opioid and heroin abuse lets correctly define who the abusers are.
