  1. I'm so glad you are doing this, Ed! You're raising the awareness with every video.

A lot of the times people tell me "But why do you eat alternatives to meat, if that's what you don't want to eat?" To me, this question has a very simple answer: "Because it's not the meat and its taste that I dislike, it's the way it has been manufactured." So if there is an alternative which tastes like meat, why wouldn't I eat it?
I feel like the people who ask me this question do this because they know that there is no actual reason for them to justify eating meat.

I wondered if anyone else has had the same "problem"?

  2. I'd like to become a vegan (already using only cruelty-free cosmetics and hair products) but where I live there are barely any vegan substitutes and if they are, they're expensive as hell. What can I do? There will be many years until I manage to move to another country.

  3. Thank you Ed for what you are doing. I am 17 and vegan for a year and a half and my parents are very supportive and never eat meat at home and they love everything I cook and even my mom cooks vegan. But yesterday I saw a big bag in the fridge with flesh from the turkish super market and I asked my mom why and she said "your uncle is going to visit us and other people and they want to eat our traditional eritrean food with meat." I was shocked and very sad. Today I saw the bag on the kitchen table and my mom was preparing a sauce and I said "mom, I want you to know that this is destroying me inside" and I started to cry. She said "I'm so sorry but what else should I serve, don't cry! You're hurting yourself, that's not healthy!" Then she started to cut the flesh and I cried so hard and said "it's hurting me because your cutting it as if it was a vegetable. And also because you know what it all causes." My parents didn't say anything but I saw that my mom had tears in her eyes. I think she kind of woke up. I hope so.

  4. Just a thought , would it be possible to make an avert for TV. relating to what you said. Expensive, but maybe plant a lot of seeds.

  5. I used to eat loads of meat and eggs up till July 2017. Once I watched Glass Walls and The Land of Hope and Glory, I couldn't get the images of the animals suffering out of my head. Just want to puke when I see any animal product including milk chocolate – Viva have a video of a Cadbury dairy farmer shooting a male calf in the head. So even Cadburys can jog on 😤

  6. These videos are so helpfull when having a conversation with non vegans. And thank you so much for making the E book aswell!

  7. i really like your activism but I think you compare situations of animal cruely to dog cruelty but maybe u should vary a little. Love tshe vid

  8. There are critical vitamins and minerals which can be deficient in a vegan diet particularly vitamins b 12 vitiam d iron calcium zinc and riboflavin vegan diets can also increase the risk of vitamins a deficiency and b 12 .. and k one and omega five

  9. Yes! Yes! Yes!
And people always say to me, “ oh, I could not ever give up ‘my meat’ “ or “ can’t give up cheese”. I know I used to think that but I also know that I DID stop eating animals. And I don’t feel deprived what-so-ever. Quite the opposite, in fact ☺️.

  10. But WHY do animal products taste so good? It's largely because they are highly nutritious, and the Vegan diet is deficient in many of these nutrients.

It's disingenuous to portray non-Vegans as being selfish people willing to harm animals for a moment's taste. The reality is that taste goes hand in hand with nutrition, and also custom and tradition. You would have to address all of these issues effectively for the taste argument to be valid.

  11. Ed please take care of yourself too! You work so hard. I hope you are getting enough sleep. World needs you to stay healthy! ♡♡♡

  12. most people who like "the taste of meat" really only like the copious amounts of salt added to it to make it remotely palatable. Must be really mind blowing to them to learn you can put salt on anything.

  13. Loved this video! Ed you truly are such an Inspiration to vegans and others! If people really think veganism is hard , Try being the animal that is slaughtered everyday for our pleasure.! Honestly since being vegan there are MANY vegan alternatives and people think I'm starving myself but what they dont know is that im eating in abundance rather than restricting myself. People need to be educated. It'll do them good knowing about veganism instead of saying ignorant things and false info about veganism and using myths and lies to back up their points.

  14. HI ED, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU KNOW THIS, (AND ANYONE CURIOUS), BUT "NO EGG CRAIG" CHANNEL MAKES IT EASY FOR NON VEGANS TO TRANSITION WITH PLANT BASED HOT DOG HAMBURGER PIZZA AND SO FORTH OPTIONS. THE VIDEOS ARE FUNNY TO WATCH AND HIS FAMILY TURNED VEGAN ALSO AND ARE INCORPORATING MORE VEGAN PRODUCTS INTO THEIR FAMILY BUSINESS.🍫🍫🍫🍫🌱

  15. I thought I liked the taste. Turns out I was, like everyone else, indoctrinated. Now I can't even stand the smell.

  16. Aha! It's so weird but, after a month I had become a Vegan I literally hated the taste of substitute meat! And I used to love animal meat. @[email protected]! All I enjoy now that is closest to the taste of meat is Tofu, otherwise if I have meat substitutes I get a grossed out feeling on the inside which I never had before. xD! I went from really liking the meat substitutes to just being like, "Nope!"

  17. remember that no one actually likes the taste of dead rotten flesh that's why we marinade and season it with plants 😉
