Science Slam 2018 – Converting waste into sustainable fuels

A collaboration between scientists at Roskilde University and Novozymes designs improved enzymes to produce bioethanol in a cost-efficient way. In nature enzyme producing fungi decompose plant material. The same enzymes can be used to decompose waste from agriculture and forestry. The production of bioethanol from this waste constitutes a sustainable and renewable source of carbon.
