Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter Alternative

Video demo of Ethernet over power line alternative to using the Xbox 360 Wireless Network adapter. This eliminates the need to rewire your house with Ethernet cable while providing a more reliable connection for online game play and streaming video to your Xbox 360. While the GameNet solution from Corinex is shown in the video demo, any of its competitors rated for 200 Mbps will also work.

  1. Yes that should work – assuming the DSL modem you are referring to has a way to uplink to your current network connection.

  2. You have to have your ISP hooked up somewhere in the mix to get Internet, so the spare DSL modem would need to connect out to your ISP somehow

  3. The particular model I used costs more than the Xbox 360 wifi adapter, but there are several competing solutions that cost far less.

  4. He didn't tell people that this probably won't work in older homes. This probably works in homes that were built in the last 12 years.

  5. The house the video was shot in was built before 1970, though I don't remember the exact year. That's older than 12 years. 😉

  6. ? Why would it not work? For house standards 12 years is still relatively new. I don't know why it wouldn't work with 50+ year homes. All that it's connecting to in the outlet is the copper wiring, nothing fancy. That box is sucking up the internet from your router (that broadcasts a wireless signal) and directing it to the ethernet cable(s) you insert. Don't see any reason for it not to work.

  7. Will just about any USB Wireless Adapter work for the XBox 360? I have seen some on the Wal-Mart website that are around 350 bps for $10 or so.
